Project Overview
Our client in Coleraine wanted to update their traditional oak kitchen without the cost and disruption of replacing the cupboards. The goal was to brighten the room, create a fresh, modern style, and make the kitchen feel more spacious.
The Challenge
While the cupboards were solid and in excellent condition, their dark wood finish made the kitchen feel heavy and dated. A full replacement would have been unnecessary and expensive. The client wanted a solution that would deliver a brand-new look while keeping the existing units in place.
Our Process
To achieve a flawless, long-lasting result, we carried out a detailed preparation and painting process:
- Preparation – All cupboards were carefully cleaned, degreased, and sanded to create the perfect surface.
- Priming – We applied a specialist primer designed for kitchen surfaces to ensure strong adhesion and prevent staining.
- Hand-Painted Finish – Using premium paints and professional hand-painting techniques, we built up thin, even layers to achieve a smooth, brushstroke-free finish.
- Final Touches – Handles and hardware were removed, then reinstalled once the paint had cured, leaving a crisp, modern finish throughout.
The Result
The transformation was immediate. The once dark oak cupboards now have a light, timeless finish that completely refreshed the kitchen. The space feels brighter, more modern, and welcoming.
